Grace Michell

Receptionist

Since joining Gunderson Briggs in July 2024, I have taken on the dynamic role of receptionist and a member of the marketing team, managing everything from front-of-house operations to social media and website development. With a Certificate IV in Marketing and Communications, I bring both practical knowledge and creativity to the team and I have loved growing my skills while stepping into the corporate world. Working alongside a supportive leadership team has made this transition incredibly rewarding and continues to shape my professional development each day.

Before this chapter, I spent over a decade as an elite swimmer, where I developed the discipline and mindset that now underpin my work ethic. Competing at a national level and qualifying for the Tokyo Olympic Trials were defining achievements, but more importantly, the sport taught me perseverance, communication, determination, and the value of a positive environment. Following an injury in 2022, I made the difficult decision to retire, marking a significant life transition.

Since then, I’ve embraced new passions and experiences, particularly travel. I’ve spent extended time exploring Southeast Asia and Europe, gaining new perspectives and a deeper appreciation for different cultures and their histories. These days, I balance my professional life with staying active through regular Pilates sessions and enjoying life’s simple pleasures—like a good Aperol. This blend of discipline, curiosity, and enthusiasm continues to shape both my personal and professional journey.
