In the third year of studying my bachelor’s degree as a science major student, I participated in a business ideas competition hosted by the college with a small group of friends. To our surprise, we won the award finally, and it was about to turn my life. After completing my bachelor’s degree in Shanghai, I decided to come to Australia and studied Master of Commerce in the University of Sydney, majoring in accounting and taxation law. Although it wasn’t easy at the beginning, I was determined to rise to the challenge.

I started my career at an accounting firm located in Sydney CBD where I gained experience in taxation, client relationship management and others. It gave me a sense of achievement when I was able to help clients with my expertise.

In 2019, sharing the same view as Ken and his team that accountants can be fun, I joined Gunderson Briggs. Here the culture is warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Here I feel accomplished, and I’m more confident about attempting things I’ve never done before. With the firm’s support, I have also completed my CA study and working towards a fully qualified CA.

I enjoy travelling and snowboarding. Being connected to my board means being disconnected from everything else in life. You can do anything you want to a snowboard if you think about it, break it down into steps, and practice the motions. It’s freedom and creativity. In winter, I like to spend my weekends at Perisher or Thredbo ski resorts. Apart from that, Japan is my favourite destination for snowboarding as it has powder snow, relaxing onsen and delicious kaiseki-ryori.

Recently, I also started to learn freediving and look forward to diving with seals, whale sharks and other amazing ocean creatures in future!
